Valentine Auphan is a doctoral researcher in Arts Studies and Practices at the Université du Québec à Montréal, where she has been developing a research-creation project in collaboration with the Montréal Planetarium since 2023. Her methodology, Météart: An Artistic Approach to Meteorite Data, brings artists, scientists and “spect(actors)” together to explore how scientific knowledge can be activated through artistic experience. Her research examines the human relationship with meteorites and the emotions these objects evoke. Rather than treating a meteorite solely as a scientific specimen, she investigates how immersive and interactive installation can transform it into a “bridge object” connecting science, audiences and imagination. Her fulldome lecture-performance Immerstellaire invites audiences to encounter stones from the sky through touch, observation, spatialised sound and responsive imagery. Embedded in a Québec network involving the Planetarium, UQAM, the Society for Arts and Technology and Lab148, the project proposes a shift from the transmission of knowledge towards knowledge created through action, perception and encounter.
