Mourad Bennacer is a multidisciplinary artist, educator and curator specialising in immersive media, spatial audio and digital archiving. Working under the alias [indistinct voices over PA], he explores technological obsolescence, data degradation and the transience of memory through his North African heritage and experimental turntablism. His practice asks what is lost, preserved and transformed as sound and culture move through time and technology. His work has been presented at events including Exposé Noir, MUTEK, Akousma, Tasmeem in Doha and Patchlab in Poland. As part of the creation and development team at the Society for Arts and Technology (SAT) in Montréal, he contributes to international partnerships and residency programmes while curating the SAT Fest fulldome festival and the immersive concert series Substrat. He is also a co-founder of Unlog, an independent collective and label operating at the intersection of electronic music and media art.
