Tobias Wiethoff is a designer and creative producer working at the intersection of planetarium storytelling and immersive art. For two decades, his educational and entertainment productions have been part of the established repertoire of numerous planetariums throughout the German-speaking world. Before joining Planetarium Bochum as program producer and artistic director, he held comparable roles at the planetariums in Jena and Hamburg.

His recent productions include 100 Jahre Ewigkeit (100 Years of Eternity), which played a central role in the international celebrations marking the centenary of the invention of the projection planetarium, and Hymnen an die Nacht (Hymns to the Night), a work that brings empirical astronomy into dialogue with poetic interpretations of German Romanticism.

In Bochum, he initiated and continues to coordinate the biennial DIVE – Immersive Arts Festival, with its particular focus on live immersive performance. He also developed the concept for SpherIcon, a two-day event devoted to immersive live projects at the intersection of art and science in Planetariums.
